Your TMS journey & what to expect
1. Before treatment
Safety Screening & Online Questionnaires
Before starting any treatment, we conduct a screening through our secure and user-friendly online portal. You'll fill out questionnaires that help our clinicians understand your needs better. This process is free and helps us see if TMS treatment is right for you.
Clinical Review & Discussion
Next, you can discuss your results with one of our experienced clinicians through an online video consultation, all from the comfort of your home. This is a perfect opportunity to ask questions and gain insights from clinicians who have guided many others through TMS treatment.
2. Your treatment
Your First TMS session & Introduction (90 minutes)
Your first session lasts 90 minutes, giving us extra time to accurately measure your head for the best TMS coil placement.
You'll relax in a reclining chair while wearing a soft cap, similar to a swim cap. The practitioner will mark the spot for the coil on the cap, which will guide future sessions.
We'll start with a few test pulses to find your motor threshold, which is the best stimulation level for you. Once this is set, your first full TMS session will begin.
The treatment takes about 20 minutes. You might feel a tapping sensation from the coil, but most patients quickly adjust. Feel free to chat with your practitioner, read, or listen to music during the session.
During this first session, you'll have time to ask any questions, and the practitioner will gladly explain how the TMS equipment works to ensure you feel at ease.
You can safely drive home after your session.
Ongoing TMS Sessions (30-45 minutes)
Follow-up sessions usually last 30 minutes, while OCD sessions are 45 minutes. These are held once a day, with a total of 20–30 sessions.
Based on your schedule, you might be able to book 2 or 3 sessions in one day, allowing you to complete the treatment plan more quickly.
You can go back to your regular activities right after each treatment. Once a week, we'll ask you to fill out a brief questionnaire to help us track your progress.
3. Final review
After finishing the suggested TMS sessions, we'll arrange a final video consultation with your clinician.
During this review, you can discuss your progress and determine if more sessions would be helpful.
We’ll provide tips to help you keep the benefits of your treatment, and if needed, we’ll connect you with your GP for continued care.
4. Continuous care
Many patients enjoy long-lasting benefits from their full TMS treatment, but some might need occasional follow-up sessions to keep up their progress—and that's perfectly normal.
We know ongoing care is crucial. That's why we provide personalised aftercare packages with scheduled maintenance treatments to support your long-term health.
