Free safety screening
Your safety screening is completely free. If any concerns arise that might make TMS treatment unsuitable for you, one of our patient advisors will discuss with your clinician first, ensuring you don't pay for an unnecessary initial consultation.
Before meeting with our clinicians, you'll need to fill out some online questionnaires. These help our care team understand your medical history and current feelings. Our patient advisors will review these to ensure you're safe for treatment, checking for things like ferromagnetic metal implants in your head.
Assessment & session pricing
Once you've completed the online questionnaires and confirmed TMS is suitable for you, you'll have a video chat with one of our expert clinicians. This session allows you to discuss your condition, ask questions, and get personalised advice on how TMS can help you.
The cost of this assessment is €300 .

Depression & anxiety treatment course
At Smart TMS, we understand that many of our patients experience both depression and anxiety. That's why we address these conditions together in the same session.
TMS treatment for depression and anxiety consists of two courses. Most patients notice significant improvements after just 15 sessions.

TMS treatment costs/prices FAQs

The cost of treatment will depend on the condition being treated, as this determines how many sessions are required.

TMS and rTMS are terms used interchangeably. the 'r' in rTMS stands for 'repetitive' Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation, which is what is implied anyway in a TMS session. TMS is more commonly used.
dTMS, on the other hand, differs slightly. TMS (or rTMS) uses a magnet referred to by professionals as a ‘figure of eight coil’. This coil emits repetitive magnetic pulses to the specific area of the brain known to cause the condition being treated. In comparison, deep Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation, or dTMS, uses a ‘H-coil’, which looks like a helmet. The magnetic pulses are emitted on a much larger area of the brain as it’s much less focused than TMS.

Before you can start treatment, there are two stages that need to be completed:
- Completion of your pre-assessment questionnaire. This gives us the information we need on your medical history and symptoms before your assessment with one of our clinicians;
- Our clinician will talk through your medical history and symptoms before arriving at a diagnosis and confirming your suitability for TMS treatment.
- A prescription for TMS will be written.
